Dying Too Young...

I just read on yahoo.com that Brad Renfro was found dead Tuesday, Jan. 15th in his home. He was only 25 years old.

For anybody who doesn't know who he is, he played in the movie Tom and Hulk with Jonathan Tayler Thomas and he also played in Sleepers, which is one of the best movies ever made.

Even though the official cause of death hasn't been determined, it really doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what the likely cause was. He had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction for some years now.

Now, I just can't seem to understand why people would want to throw away their lives and careers for drugs. To die so young over something so stupid is very sad. It's been happening for years,  yet these young stars dont seem to learn from the past. Just take a look at some of the great talents we have lost to drugs before the age of 30.

Janis Joplin-age 27-heroin overdose

                                                  Jim Morrison-age 27- heroin overdose

  River Phoenix-age 23-heart failure due to drug overdose.                            

Kurt Cobain-age 27-gunshot after lethal overdose of heroin, presumed suicide

 

All of these lives lost so soon due to drug use. Hopefully Amy Whinehouse, Britney Spears, and the rest of the young stars out there will eventually wake up and learn from the past before it's too late for them.
